Visitors Guide

Every effort is made to ensure that family and friends have ample opportunity to visit their loved ones in the hospital. If you have any questions regarding our visiting policy, please ask the unit's nursing staff or call our Guest Relations Representative at 768-4142.

Because our patients' recovery is our priority, there are some policies we ask visitors to observe to help us maintain a high quality of care:

  • only two visitors per patient at a time
  • keep visits brief and positive
  • respect our patients' privacy
  • use public rather than patient restrooms (located throughout the hospital)
  • remember that smoking is prohibited on all property owned by TAMC

Please note: Food or nutrition products brought to patients from outside sources must be approved by the patient's nursing staff to ensure that the food items are allowed on the patient's diet. Please bring food items just prior to when they will be eaten as TAMC cannot be responsible for the storage, preparation, and service of food from outside sources. Microwaves are available for your use.

Visiting Hours:

Medical/Surgical and Progressive Care Units

Visitors are welcome at any time, but please note that the main lobby doors are locked from 11:00 p.m.to 5:00 a.m. (However, the Emergency Department entrance is always open.)

Special Care Unit

Visitation to SCU is restricted to immediate family and clergy. Those visitors are welcome at any time but, to promote rest and recovery, please limit your stay to 10 minutes per hour. Exceptions to this policy must be approved by the nursing staff.

Women and Children's Health Unit

Visitors are welcome at any time, but visitation to pediatric patients, other than the patient's parents, is restricted to the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Food:

Coffee and tea are available to all of our guests free of charge in our cafeteria. Please go down and help yourself during cafeteria hours. We also offer a fine choice of meals and snacks for purchase in our cafeteria. Cafeteria hours are 6:00 am – 8:00 pm. The cafeteria is located on the bottom floor of our hospital.

Vending machines are also available in the coffee room near the Pinkham entrance, in the small hallway next to our Progressive Care Unit, between the Emergency Room and Imaging Departments, and at the basement level of the Pinkham Entrance.

Gift Shop:

Please feel welcome to visit our Gift Shop while you are here. Our gift shop is located at the Main Entrance of the hospital. Hours of operation are dependent upon the
availability of volunteers, but generally are 9:00 am to 4:30 pm every Monday through Friday with the exception of holidays.

Chapel:

Our chapel is located in the main hallway of the hospital across from the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). We hope you will enjoy the peaceful comfort this room provides. The chapel is open 24 hours per day for your convenience.

Public Telephones:

Public phones for local calls are located in the Pinkham lobby.

Newspapers:

Newspapers are available at the TAMC Gift Shop near the main entrance.
