The most advanced technology in Northern Maine...close to home.
The Radiology Department at TAMC uses advanced technology to provide information that allows your healthcare provider to diagnose and treat many illnesses. If you believe that you are in need of an x-ray or other procedure, consult your physician or visit the emergency room for a referral.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Fixed-base MRI is used to obtain images of the head, neck and more sensitive skeleto-muscular soft tissue. Our new claustrophobic-friendly MRI is the #1 preferred MRI in the United States and is the only American College of Radiology accredited fixed-base unit in Aroostook County.
Nuclear Medicine
This service is used in 85% of all cardiac studies and is most often used to study the lungs, kidneys, and bones. This technology can also be used to detect testicular cancer. Equipment rotates around the patient and takes an image as it rotates. TAMC completes over 3000 nuclear medicine procedures each year.
CT Scan
Producing images sharper and more detailed than any other unit available today, TAMC's 64-slice CT scanner provides fast, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging. Precide 3-D scans can be done in just seconds. |
