Everyone recovers differently depending on their willingness to take an active role in their own therapy program. Our acute inpatient rehab team will assist you in the following ways:
- Understand your disability and how to prevent medical complications
- Acquire new, adaptive self-care skills
- Work with adaptive equipment to make independence more easily attainable
- Learn new coping skills
- Develop the self-confidence necessary to achieve personal goals and maintain a "can-do" attitude.
Our professional staff will continually evaluate you during your stay, work with you to overcome pain and flexibility restraints, help in the restoration of your daily living skills, evaluate your communication skills, educate you about your disease and medications used to treat it, and counsel you about emotional and financial concerns.
A Homeward Bound Room is available to ease the transition of leaving the hospital and returning to your home. This room is similar to a bedroom and contains a twin bed, furniture, etc.
