06/26 TAMC employees recognized for years of service

TAMC recently honored its employees who have reached milestones in their tenure with the healthcare facility. A celebration took place in the Campus Center at the University of Maine at Presque Isle where TAMC recognized 170 employees at its 2018 Employee Service Awards ceremony.

04/23 Three County hospitals collaborate against hunger

For the fourth year, three County hospitals are using the celebration of National Hospital Week to hold a food drive to help out those in need in their communities.  The Hospitals Against Hunger effort kicks off on May 1 and runs through May 11.

04/13 TAMC offers Fit & Fun Spring Challenge

On the heels of the success of a Fit & Fun Winter Challenge that wrapped up in March, The Aroostook Medical Center has launched a Fit & Fun Spring Challenge.  The challenge, featuring 11 events in the community, kicked-off this past weekend and runs through the middle of June.

04/11 Splash & Dash planned in three communities; club helps kids prepare

The organizations that have partnered in the past to offer the Aroostook Youth Triathlon in Presque Isle are changing things up a bit.  New this year is a ‘Splash & Dash’ that involves swimming and running, but no biking.  The Star City Splash & Dash takes place on the campus of the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Saturday, June 16, with additional events also planned in Mapleton and Fort Fairfield during festivals in those communities.

03/22 First participants graduate from CNA pilot program

As the Aroostook Medical Center struggled to find Certified Nursing Assistant (CNAs), who play a vital patient care role at both the hospital and at TAMC’s long-term and skilled care facility in Mars Hill, the question was raised, “Why don’t we don’t we grow our own?”  That concept took root and led to the development of a unique pilot program that recently concluded with the graduation of four new CNAs.

03/16 County Women’s Health Conference planned for April 14

The Aroostook Medical Center and Maine Agri-Women are once again partnering to offer a free community program designed to educate and bring awareness to issues important to women. The third annual County Women’s Health Conference will be held at TAMC’s conference center on Saturday, April 14, from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

03/16 TAMC to host new support group for people with acquired brain injuries

The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle will host a new support group for individuals in the community who have suffered from a brain injury.  The group will meet twice a month on Thursday mornings.  The kick off meeting for the group takes place on March 22 at 9:00 a.m.
