Despite the rural nature of the area, residents have access to services typically reserved for urban areas. The Northern Maine Regional Airport provides several commercial flights daily, the Aroostook Centre Mall is a commercial and social center, and the Loring Commerce Centre is a diverse regional center for economic development.
Many of our local school systems are award-winners. The University of Maine at Presque Isle, Northern Maine Community College, Husson College, and The University of Maine at Fort Kent serve the higher education needs of the region.
