What is The Aroostook Medical Center?

The Aroostook Medical Center, a not-for-profit organization, is the leading provider of healthcare services in northern Maine. As an affiliate of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems, we are able to provide services not typically available in rural areas. We are driven by our mission to restore, maintain and improve the health of our friends and neighbors in a compassionate and professional environment.

Each hospital and health center is unique, but the combined efforts of our employees ensure that you'll receive the highest quality, most compassionate care possible. And because our organizations are governed by local volunteer boards, you can be sure that you're needs are being addressed by those who know them best - your friends and neighbors.

The Aroostook Medical Center consists of:

A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital (ARG), located in Presque Isle, is a licensed 96-bed acute care facility. The J. Paul and Blanche Levesque Imaging Center, McCain Cardiovascular Laboratory, and the Raymond G. Giberson Day Surgery Center are also conveniently located on the ARG campus. A large variety of services are offered at ARG, including a cancer treatment program, 24-hour emergency services, dedicated mammography services, inpatient physical therapy, rehabilitation, CT and MRI imaging services, and numerous subspecialty services and clinics.

Aroostook Health Center (AHC), located in Mars Hill, provides long-term care nursing to 72 residents. A full range of services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, laboratory, and x-ray are readily available to residents. The nursing home is also the site of a private primary care practice.

Community General (CGH), located in Fort Fairfield, is the site for Horizons Fort Fairfield Health Center, Green Ridge Neuro Rehab and Horizons Psychiatric Services.

Horizons Health Services, a department of The Aroostook Medical Center, has facilities throughout central Aroostook County. Horizons is one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the state of Maine. Services range from family practice and pediatric care, preventive care and education, outpatient procedures and tests, and rehabilitative services following an illness or injury.

County Dialysis Center is a hemodialysis unit that was brought to Presque Isle in 1997 through the cooperation of The Aroostook Medical Center and Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems. The unit is the only hemodialysis treatment facility north of Bangor, Maine.

TAMC Title Corporation is a not-for-profit title holding corporation, consisting of a 3 member board elected by TAMC, Inc. directors. Holds titles for CGHC Medical Office Building, Mars Hill Medical Office Building, Presque Isle Medical Office Building, and others.
